Description
As far as styles go, Nox clearly has one she prefers to lean into. Her hair is a neck-length shag cut, with two long red locks framing her face and the rest starting black in the front and gradually turning more purple from the top down the back. Her mouth seems most prone to sneer or smirk, giving a harsher look to her face. Her toned, average-height body sports several tattoos, and the way she usually holds herself accentuates both her curves and her bad attitude. But the most distinctive element of this goth bitch is her eyes: striking magenta irises stare out from jet-black sclera, and it's not entirely clear if the dark lines around them are makeup or actually part of her. Throw in the outward-pointing ears and it's not hard to guess why Nox leans so hard into standing out: she never really had a choice in the matter.

Extended Description/Backstory
Aberrant traits weren't exactly rare. At least, not in the big cities. There, maybe one in five families seemed to have one, between the natural mingling of highly varied bloodlines and the concentration of so much mental energy and activity. Sharp teeth, claw-like nails, elongated limbs, strange skin patterns... in the city, nobody really batted an eye.

Nox didn't grow up in the city.

From her first days in preschool, she stood out. The pointed ears were bad enough, but when other kids finally looked into those
magenta eyes, most shied away or outright fled. The few who didn't seemed downright in awe of her, treating her like some amazing, mythical being. Even the teachers seemed put off by her looking at them. Seldom did they challenge her when she stepped out of line, and as long as she got solid grades, her mother didn't care about how she was interacting with the other children. Things only grew more pronounced during puberty, when inky lines started creeping into the edges of her sclera, spreading over the years until they'd turned totally black.
So of course it shouldn't come as a surprise when that girl grew into a cocky delinquent, leveraging her unusual looks - and the minor psionic talents that she carefully kept secret - to push others around and keep her small clique of sycophants and fellow bullies in line. Once out of high school, however, she started running into an issue: her little "gang" was thinning out, its members moving on with their lives as they entered the workforce or went off to college. She herself was pressured into the latter, her whining only earning her a single gap year before she was sent off to a fairly prestigious institution.
College wasn't like high school, and the city, even a smaller one like this, wasn't like her home town. Lacking the same attention and outlets for her frustration, she started spending her free time on petty crimes. While her usual tricks kept her out of trouble at first, it didn't last long: the first time she was caught vandalizing public property, the college threatened her with expulsion and her mother laid into her as a result.
While this *was* something of a wakeup call, Nox's lingering bitterness and resentment only sharpened: rather than turn her behavior around, she decided she'd double down and do this 'evil' thing *right*. She started digging into how people harnessed the horrors that lurked at the edges of reality, looking for ways to strengthen her abilities or grant her new ones...
...she didn't get very far.

Primary themes/kinks:
Goth, bully, brat, degradation, psionics, illusions, eldritch

One day, a chat about maids and bullying made me question if I should have a character who was more prone to pushing people around, and also deserving of comeuppance. Someone who could be bratty and defiant, but I wouldn't feel bad about having lose since she's such a bitch. Someone who'd be mean for her own sake, rather than because she thought the other person *wanted* her to be mean to them. *Then* I remembered that I didn't have a real goth lady on the roster yet...

Nox solidified steadily from there. She's going to be abrasive, rude, cocky, and generally a bitch. She might chill out later... or she might get worse. Depends on who gets ahold of her and what they do~

While originally I was leaning towards making her a witch (incidentally where the name came from), I went with psionic because I didn't really have a psychic lady yet, but I have plenty of magic and potential potion-brewers. That said, her abilities aren't especially potent...

Powers:
Telekinesis - Used mostly for messing with/teasing people, the most force Nox can get out of her telekinesis is slightly above an average person's physical strength. A solid punch or a tight bear hug are the best she can muster, and that's if she's really trying.
Aura - This ability lets Nox project the way she wants to be seen by those present, be that intimidating, innocent, cool, or whatever other vibe she's going for. Works best with casual interactions and on the powerless or weak willed: seeing through it doesn't take too much effort, as long as someone knows to try or has even cursory defenses.
Intuition - How did she know there'd be people at some remote wilderness location, or that there was a trap in a specific spot? Why, flashes of psionic intuition, of course! It's a way to explain narrative-driven RP decisions more than anything.
Suggestion - Probably the most potent and relevant of Nox's abilities: she can make most ideas sound reasonable, even adding some compulsion to them. Again, it's not *that* hard to resist, especially if one's aware of it... but if they're mentally off-balance due to other factors, such as being physically subdued, overly flustered, or addled by lust, then it can be quite effective~
Hallucinations - Not actually part of Nox's psychic powers, these are something she gained through studying the partial eldritch incursion that's a feature of her world. How elaborate and convincing she can make them for a target is entirely dependent on that person's mental faculties: the more out-of-it someone is, the more drastically she can shape their perception of the world.

Final notes:
I'm actually pretty bad at being mean, but it's just *so* popular to have a hot toxic girl bully people around here, that I want to try filling that niche better~ So this character's definitely something of an experiment. Please keep that in mind.
Oh, also, her romantic is listed as "Situational" because she's *incredibly* closed off. It'll take a lot to get through that, but if someone does, then great! If not, the closest to a "romantic relationship" will probably be someone ending up in a harem she forms... or her ending up in someone else's~

Welcome to Katie! \o/

For those who don't know me, I'm in my late 30s, AuDHD, an aspiring writer, and a big ol' geek. I'm also a builder, coder, and tailor for the MUSH! The main things I work on are the website and webclient, so I'm the person to go to if you have any issues with either of those (though ideally you should put them in the bug-report forum on the Discord server).

As a MUSH player, I tend to lean towards more involved character development and ongoing storylines. My characters pretty much always have something going on beneath the surface, and I *love* when people pick up on the hints I drop and dig into things~ This does mean my focus is less on kinky scenes, but I do plenty of those, too! I just tend to prefer scenes with people who have been getting involved with my characters beyond what those characters can do kink-wise.

On domming vs subbing: I'm generally more willing to dom new people than sub at this point, mainly because I have too much love and pride invested in my characters to subject them to things I would otherwise enjoy. I need to know that my *character* would be okay with it before I can let myself put them in that position, even with CNC things. This means I generally only sub on specific characters, in specific situations, and/or to people I already know fairly well, and even then I have to vibe with the dom's gimmick. It all comes down to feelings about individual situations in the end, sooo... ask? Worst I'll tell you is "no thanks" <3

When it comes to OOC hypnosis, I'm even more reserved: I'll tease plenty, and sometimes it's fun to act subby, but these days I don't really engage with it unless it's an established dynamic or a particularly close friend. This goes for domming *or* subbing. I'm here for the RP, so let's try to keep things in-character, 'kay~? ^_^
